Bad news and Good news

Bad first - @3:00 a.m est my grandpa died.
I hadn't yet got the e-mail that he'd had a heart attack, and then I got the voicemail. He had recently had his 96th birthday. He is survived by my uncle Richard after having lost his wife and first son (my dad) several years ago.

Good news - because I'm still in training for my new position - they are willing to extend my training period so I'm taking a couple of weeks off to go back to Chicago.

If anyone still checks this blog then here's the heads up - I leave for the funeral Saturday night and then slid into Chicago after. I don't have an exact idea of how this all will work out - just that that it will.
